Federal Reserve Chair News Conference on U.S. Economy

C-SPAN: The Federal Reserve announced it would hold steady the interest rate, but future hikes are not off the table and will be dependent on incoming economic data. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell spoke about the decision against a rate increase during a news conference in Washington, DC. The Federal Open Market Committee, a branch of the Federal Reserve tasked with setting monetary policy, will meet November 1 to decide whether or not to implement a rate hike to address high inflation.
