Tom Homan Says ICE Surge Operation in Minnesota Has Concluded

C-SPAN: Border Czar Homan held a briefing announcing the end of a surge in Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in Minnesota, saying he and other federal officials were pleased with their progress arresting criminal undocumented immigrants in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and with local and state officials’ cooperation with their federal counterparts. Mr. Homan said operational control of ICE’s Minnesota presence would return to its central command, and wind down its presence in the coming weeks. He said critical federal personnel would remain, including those conducting ongoing investigations into fraud in Minnesota. Mr. Homan said that while he disagreed with Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) on matters of policy, he appreciated the governor’s efforts and coordination in previous weeks.
