The Little Match Girl: A Powerful Short Film on the Need for Compassion

Fernando Gastelo: This is a 1937 animation short from Charles Mintz’s Color Rhapsody series produced for Columbia Pictures.

The Little Match Girl” was first written by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. It’s the story, about a dying child’s dreams and hope and it was first published in 1845.

This is a re-upload from Steve Stanchfield. He runs Thunderbean Animation, an animation studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has compiled over a dozen archival animation DVD & Blu-ray collections. All I did was slightly alter the color tint palette.
