$5K Charitable Donation Being Offered for Any New Yorker Who Can Prove Cuomo’s Nursing Home Order ‘Followed’ Federal Guidelines

BROOKLYN, NY – Today, the COVID nursing home orphan families, who tragically lost family members during the pandemic, announced a $5,000 donation to charity on behalf of any New Yorker who can prove a single sentence of former governor Andrew Cuomo’s controversial COVID-19 nursing home directive followed the Trump CDC/CMS guidelines.

“Our families are so so certain that Andrew Cuomo disobeyed federal guidelines that we’re putting $5,000 on the line to be proven otherwise,” said Peter Arbeeny, a lifelong democrat. “Cuomo’s directive endangered and killed tens of thousands of the most immunocompromised New Yorkers, including our father Norman. Five years later, the former governor has yet to apologize to us for his disastrous decision. Five years later, Cuomo still needs to be held to a high standard of truth.”

For five years, the nursing home family has sought accountability from Cuomo for the deaths related to the explosion of COVID in nursing homes. For five years, Cuomo has even refused to meet with the grieving brothers in person, at their father’s apartment, as
have most elected officials in New York City and State.

The COVID nursing home orphans are now asking:

Show us just one complete sentence on his one-page deadly Nursing Home March 25th, 2020 directive that came from the Trump federal CMS Guidance March 4, 2020 guidelines and here in CMS 2025 response letter to Senator Ortt’s request.

Here are bi-partisan lawmakers asking the same simple question if the federal guidelines were being followed by the Cuomo administration. The NYS Senate Health Committee chairman, Senator Gustavo Rivera, sent a letter to the NYS DOH and received this reply refusing to answer this very simple question.

The NY Post reported on the five NY congressional Republicans’ followup letter to the HHS, CMS and CDC. The Cuomo campaign fired back and insisted that the March 25, 2020 nursing home directive was “consistent with federal guidance.” Team Cuomo should STOP bringing up the Federal class action lawsuit when responding to Peter Arbeeny. For the record, Daniel Arbeeny filed a class action federal lawsuit that was dismissed. However, team Cuomo should check their inbox for the scheduled oral arguments in the appeal.

The COVID nursing home orphans issued a final challenge to the media: stop publishing that Cuomo followed federal guidelines until and unless he has proven it.
