Maryland & Virginia Democrats Comment on Federal Worker Firings

C-SPAN: Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), and other lawmakers held a press conference on the 14th day of the federal government shutdown to address the Trump administration’s reported plans to fire federal workers. They discussed several key issues, including the legality of mass federal layoffs and concerns surrounding Project 2025. Lawmakers also criticized White House Budget Director Russel Vought and President Trump for using federal employees as “political pawns.”
