IMDb: The Sacrament was directed by Ti West and stars Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley and Gene Jones. In the film, a news team trails a man as he travels into the world of Eden Parish to find his missing sister, where it becomes apparent that this paradise may not be as it seems.

The movie’s plot was inspired by the charismatic cult leader Jim Jones and the real-life event known as The Jonestown Massacre. It occurred in 1978 and received international news coverage. 

You know what’s incredibly eerie? November 18 will mark the 47th anniversary of the tragedy, and the current occupant of the Oval Office….is the 47th. Something to think about, right?
