Democratic National Committee Debates Gaza Resolutions
C-SPAN: Members of the Democratic National Committee’s Resolutions Committee debated a number of resolutions that altered the party’s platform, including two regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict and the resulting humanitarian crisis in Gaza. One that would have called for an end to U.S. support for Israel failed, and another introduced by Ken Martin, the DNC chair, was withdrawn. Mr. Martin said he withdrew the resolution — which had passed — in the interest of party unity. He instead committed to appointing an intraparty commission to discuss and formulate a party platform resolution on Gaza. Also debated were 17 other policy resolutions, including several critical of the Trump administration, and 21 commemorating Democrats who had died over the previous year.
