NPR & PBS Executives Testify Before DOGE Subcommittee
C-SPAN: National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) executives and other witnesses testified before the DOGE subcommittee about alleged biased content and government funding of the entities. Republicans questioned the journalistic standards of NPR and PBS and the need for federal funding for the two networks amid increased technology and access to the internet. Democrats shared concerns that the committee was not focused on, what they considered, more pressing issues such as DOGE cuts or national security. Additionally, witnesses discussed how public broadcasting was used in local and rural communities for communication during natural disasters or for educational purposes.
