White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Holds First Briefing

C-SPAN: “America will no longer tolerate illegal immigration” and President Trump “expects every nation on this planet will cooperate with the repatriation of their citizens,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters in the first White House press briefing of the second Trump administration. The press secretary was pressed on recent ICE detainments and deportations of illegal immigrants and a recent pause of federal grants and loans. The secretary, although questioned, could not list specific programs affected, but said those with “direct assistance will not be impacted.” At the age of 27, Karoline Leavitt is the youngest person to serve in the role of White House press secretary.
