U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn: A Message to a ‘Karen’ in the Senate

Blackburn!! I just read a Raw Story report that stated the following: “Threats are being made to the jury members who found Daniel Penny not guilty,” lodged Blackburn on X. “This is the direct result of the Left’s weaponization of the justice system, which encourages the use of fear tactics against judges and jurors to receive their favored outcome. This will not stand,” she continued.

“Senator Karen,” and I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure out why I’m choosing to refer to you by that name, I need you to do me two favors. First, cut the bullshit because when members of MAGA nation were threatening judges, lawyers, jurors and their families, when your boy, “45,” was facing precedent-setting criminal charges, I don’t recall you saying shit! Now you want to run your mouth? Really? Stop it!

Secondly, you’re actually blaming “the Left” for “vitriolic threats” against the jurors and that sorry-ass Marine (SAM)? Yeah, I said it! He’s a SAM, and I’d tell him to his face and dare him to try and choke me out! I guarantee it wouldn’t end well for him! I have an extremely close friend that I consider my brother. He served in “Desert Storm” and taught hand-to-hand combat to Special Forces members, so I know what an honorable and outstanding U.S. Marine looks like. That said, the left is not the reason for any threats being made. Come closer so I can tell what the real reason is. Closer! Closer!! Okay, you ready? It’s this country’s history of vigilante justice by whites and a criminal justice system that has and will always favor the wealthy and white. Moreover, informed people of color, Black people you, MAGA members and the GOP refer to  as “woke,” are sick and tired of being sick and tired! If you have a Black colleague, a Black family member by marriage, or someone Black that you consider a lifelong friend, none of whom are conservatives, you need to sit down with them and have an honest conversation about why so many Blacks are upset over the verdict instead of jumping on social media and displaying your ignorance. You really do. 

You, members of the Republican Party, MAGA nation, the assclowns over at FOX News, and those working in other forms of conservative media are playing an extremely dangerous game by dismissing, disrespecting or outright pissing on Blacks who are pained by the jury’s decision. You made the same mistake with Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and many others. You all continue to call the protesters leftists or “agitators,” but the reality is you’re talking about Black people who are well-versed in the history of this country and the countless acts of hatred and vitriol committed by those who continue to oppress them in a myriad of ways.

You and “The Red Brigade” are acting like you want “the smoke.” Well, again, you’d better be very careful. If the Black powder keg finally explodes, as it did during the Nat Turner Rebellion and Watts Riots, you may get more smoke than you ever expected. I’m not calling for or predicting a violent event. I’m just saying.
