Veterans Affairs Secretary Discusses Veterans and Their Families

C-SPAN: Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough sat down for a conversation on support for veterans and military families hosted by the National Press Club in Washington, DC. He emphasized that suicide prevention is a top priority for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and shared what the VA was doing to support mental health and veterans in crisis. Additional topics discussed included veterans’ benefits for toxic exposure during the Gulf War, women’s health care, hiring providers that reflect the diversity and complexity of veterans, homelessness, and funding for the VA workforce.
