Fed Chair Wants to See More Data on Inflation Before Cutting Interest Rates
C-SPAN: Fed Chair Jerome Powell tells the House Financial Services Committee that the expectation is that interest rates could be begin to come down later this year but that he wants to see that inflation is continuing to sustainably move towards the two-percent goal. “We want to see a little bit more data so that we can become confident that we can take that step of beginning to reduce policy rates,” he says.
