Fraudulent Adult Guardianships in NY: NYC National Art’s Club to Host Screening of ‘The Guardians’

By Rick Black

Greetings, New Yorkers!

I am inviting you to a free event at the NYC National Art’s Club on February 23rd at 6:30 p.m. The organization will host a screening of the 2018 documentary “The Guardians,” which will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A on Diane Dimond’s 2023 book “We’re Here to Help, When Guardianship Goes Wrong.”

Please click here for additional information and to register. There is limited seating, so you need to RSVP quickly.

My wife Terri and I will be attending with New York regional coordinator Errol Rappaport and award-winning investigative journalist Diane Dimond. We are looking forward to a public discussion on the issue and needed investigations and reforms that are working in other states that should be adopted to reduce the victimization in New York.

Sadly, New York continues to operate in the dark ages on the issues of adult guardianship adjudication and oversight.  Hopefully this event will kick-start desperately-needed activism in Albany.

Hope to see you there!

Rick Black is the executive director of the Center for Estate Administration Reform, also known as CEAR.
