House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries Holds Weekly Briefing

C-SPAN: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) criticized House Republicans for “performative politics and political stunts” during his weekly news conference from Capitol Hill on his party’s legislative agenda. He said there are issues they can work on together, such as the economy, public safety, and the border, but “extreme MAGA Republicans have chosen to spend the week focused on Secretary Mayorkas and Taylor Swift.” When asked about comments made by Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) on the Justice Department’s investigation into Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) where he called her husband a “thug,” Leader Jeffries said Rep. Nehls “pedaled in racially inflammatory language. He should apologize.
