Welcome.

On December 9, The G-Man Interviews received the following email statement.

“Growing up in a left-wing household during the time of McCarthyism, I have been a supporter of free political speech all of my life. I grew up with a Jewish father who was a leading fighter against anti-Semitism in the U.S. in the 1930’s when it was all the rage.

Additionally, I have always believed that “free speech” is not an absolute value, and that certain kinds of speech are, shall we say, beyond the pale. Speaking as a Jewish Harvard graduate (Harvard Medical School – Class of ’62), I am very upset with the original response of President Claudine Gay, who recently testified at a Capitol hearing on the rise of antisemitism on college campuses, and her subsequent attempt to somehow smooth it over.

Certain kinds of speech should not be free. Advocating genocide for Jews is one of them. Anti-Black racism, harkening back to the days of the Lost Cause and Jim Crow, and in our own time, Blacks are somehow “different,” is another.

Harvard should reconsider its code of conduct in such matters. In the meantime, President Gay should resign.”

The statement was submitted by Dr. Steven Jonas, Professor Emeritus of Preventive Medicine at Stony Brook Medicine in New York. Dr. Jonas has been a political columnist for over 20 years and is the author, co-author, editor and co-editor of 37 books.

In addition to his role as a columnist for OpEdNews, he is a regular contributor to From The G-Man, which is the independent news and information site affiliated with this podcast.

The interview was conducted on December 11.
