Senators Schumer and McConnell Comment on Aid to Ukraine

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says that H.R. 2, the House border security bill, is a “non-starter” as part of the president’s emergency supplemental aid request, saying it lacks the votes to pass in the House or the Senate.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell urges his colleagues to vote “no” on a motion to proceed to a shell bill for the national security supplemental aid request for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan until border security is addressed in the bill.
