The Israel/Hamas War: Two Questions for Prime Minister Netanyahu

I learned about Jewish culture and the Holocaust while attending Far Rockaway High School in Queens, New York. The school was a 50/50 mix of Jews and people of color, and we were extremely protective and supportive of each other. In fact, I was very quick to get in someone’s face, especially players from other high school sports teams, if they did or said anything to harm or insult Jews I befriended. I would shut that shit down quick and tell them…”We don’t do that bullshit here….so take it back wherever the fuck you came from.” Jewish teachers and students loved and respected me for what I did, and I had a very good reason for always getting involved. Elie Wiesel visited our school, and I heard and understood every word he said during his speech. The man made me realize the correlation between the Holocaust and slavery in America. Too many stood by and did nothing during those horrific periods, but I will never stand and watch someone be attacked, physically or verbally, because of who they are. It’s just not in my DNA.
I will always have a level of love and respect for Jewish people because many played crucial roles in my life. When looking at the Israel/Hamas war, these are my greatest concerns.
The world turning on Israel because people who have nothing to do with Hamas are being killed – After WW II, the horror of the Holocaust forced many around the world to develop empathy for Jews and denounce antisemitism. I fear that empathy and support may begin to rapidly erode, which will lead us right back to Germany in the 1930s. You know what happened then, right?
Prime Minister Netanyahu being so consumed with power and revenge that Jews all over the world will pay the ultimate price – News reports are being published on a daily basis about Jews being viciously assaulted, their businesses burned to the ground and their cemeteries desecrated. Some reports note a 388% increase in these incidents. Let me be very clear. These things were happening prior to the Israel/Hamas conflict, but the war has taken the dire situation to another level.
The Israel/Hamas war could create generations of Hamas or Hezbollah members – Prime Minister Netanyahu said the goal is to completely eliminate Hamas. Good luck with that, man! You can kill the terrorist, but you cannot kill the ideology. Palestinian children, teens and young adults whose parents, grandparents and other relatives were killed in targeted bombings will want revenge, and they may have never even heard of the word Hamas or supported the terrorist network prior to losing their loved ones. Why? They may have been too busy playing video games or following their favorite celebrities on social media. Going forward, none of them will give a damn about Hamas or its history of terror, especially if they were never able to relate to the group or its ideology. They only thing they will think about is the one they lost, and the only thing they will care about is retribution. That is the price Prime Minister Netanyahu will pay for heartlessly calling innocent people who have no ties to Hamas …. “collateral damage.”
Mr. Prime Minister: Nearly 1,500 Jews were brutally slaughtered on October 7 by Hamas. You retaliated, which you had every right to do. There is no question that Hamas must be dealt with. However, your mistake was you undertook the mission with a scorched-earth mentality, and many world leaders and those they represent have a problem with the fact that innocent men, women and children in Gaza who have nothing to do with Hamas continue to be killed. As a result, Jews in the United States and abroad are being targeted and viciously assaulted. Jewish businesses are being vandalized or burned to the ground and cemeteries desecrated like it was Germany in the 1930s.
Here is my first question, Prime Minister Netanyahu. How would you feel if world leaders proclaimed the aforementioned attacks and the destruction of Jewish businesses, cemeteries and landmarks were nothing more than collateral damage?
Consider this as well. You have indirectly given every Jew-hater in the world a reason to celebrate what they perceive as a global revolution against “the horned devils” and Israel. Don’t take my word for it! Just log on to hate group sites or the dark web.
Here is my second question, Prime Minister Netanyahu. If three million Jews or more are kidnapped, beaten, sexually assaulted, tortured, wrongly imprisoned or killed over the duration of the Israel/Hamas war, worldwide, would you really have accomplished your objective…. or simply made things much worse for Jews and Israel?
This commentary is from the heart and……from The G-Man.
