House Democratic Leadership News Conference

C-SPAN: House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA) said it is “up to Republicans to pick their leader,” when asked about whether Democrats have a preference of candidates for the next Speaker of the House. However, he referred to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) as being “more affable … a member we can have conversations with,” but said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) “is dangerous to our democracy.” Also addressed during the press conference was support for Israel in the aftermath of the attack by Hamas and whether Rep. George Santos (R-NY) should be expelled from Congress.
