Відійшла у Вічність (Ad Memoriam): д-р Лариса Кий, Dr. Larissa Kyj

З великим сумом і жалем, Український Конґресовий Комітет Америки (УККА) повідомляє своїх членів та всю українську громаду, що 6 вересня 2023 року померла багаторічний член Крайової Екзекутиви УККА, д-р Лариса Кий.

It is with great sorrow and regret that the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America informs its members and the entire Ukrainian community that on September 6, 2023, long-time Executive Board Member, Dr. Larissa Kyj, passed away.

Доктор Кий прожила життя, присвячене родині та служінню нашій громаді та Україні. Як громадський діяч та професор університету, д-р Кий була багаторічним президентом Злученого Українського Американського Допомогового (ЗУАДК), довголітнім членом Крайової Екзекутиви УККА та Об’єднання Жінок Оборони Чотирьох Свобід України (ОЖ ОЧСУ).

Dr. Kyj led a life dedicated to her family and service to our hromada and Ukraine. As a community leader and educator, among her many roles, Dr. Kyj served as long-term President of the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee (UUARC), long-term Executive Board Member of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and the Women’s Association for the Defense of Four Freedoms for Ukraine.

Лариса також займала керівні посади в Спілці Української Молоді в Америці (СУМ), Спілці Українських Студентських Товариств Америки (СУСТА) та Товаристві Української Студіюючої Молоді ім. Миколи Міхновського (ТУСМ).

Larissa also held leadership roles in the Ukrainian American Youth Association (CYM), the Federation of Ukrainian Student Organizations (SUSTA) and the Ukrainian Student Association of Mykola Mikhnovskyi (TUSM).

Серед багатьох нагород, які вона отримала за свою невтомну працю, були найвище відзначення УККА «Шевченківська Грамота Волі», медаль Світового Конґресу Українців «Святого Володимира Великого» та Орден Княгині Ольги 3-го ступеня від Президента України.

Among the many awards she received for her tireless work were UCCA’s highest accolade the Shevchenko Freedom Award, the Ukrainian World Congress’ St. Volodymyr the Great Medal, and the Order of Princess Olha 3rd Class from the President of Ukraine.

УККА висловлює найщиріші співчуття її чоловікові Мирославу, дітям Олексі, Ладі та Євгену з їхніми родинами, братові Аскольду та його родині, членам її родини та всій українсько-американській громаді з приводу їхньої втрати.

UCCA sends its sincerest condolences to her husband Myroslav, her children Oleksa, Lada, and Evhen with their families, her brother Askold and his family, her extended family members, and the entire Ukrainian American community for their loss.
