Gov. Ron DeSantis Announces Border Security Plan in Eagle Pass, Texas
C-SPAN: 2024 Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL) talked about his border security plan in a town hall held at a veterans social club in Eagle Pass, Texas, on the U.S.-Mexico border. He said he would step up enforcement of current border control laws, and use executive action to toughen requirements for asylum seekers who try to access the U.S. via its border with Mexico as well as deter migrants from Central and South America — and elsewhere — from coming to the U.S. in the first place. Gov. DeSantis also answered questions from many of the attendees, both on border security and other topics, including tax policy and efforts to combat fentanyl trafficking.
