A Warning to Ye: Stop Attacking and Start Thinking About Your Children and All Children

 

My Dude,

You have every right to share your views on any given subject. However, as I’m sure you have come to understand over the last few weeks, there are consequences for disseminating beliefs or online content that you deem accurate and truthful. That said, I have three major questions for you.

1. After listening to those who claim to know the truth about “The Jews” or reading or viewing articles and movies about the group, did  you ever consider contacting comedian Jon Stewart, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, or a prominent rabbi and ask….”Can we talk about this?! I need to know if any of it is true and what the facts are.” If you did not, why?

2. Again, you have every right to your opinion and to express your feelings. No one can ever take that away from you. However, it is crucially important that you answer this question as well. Have you ever considered how your actions and words could have a detrimental impact on those closest to you and, most importantly, to those you love most?

Yes, Ye. I’m going to go there because I have no fear. I’m talking about your children. You may not have considered how they are being or could be impacted every time you take to the airwaves or social media to make statements, but I’m urging you to start while you still have time. You may think your children are immune or safe from all of the controversy and drama your outspokenness has created because they attend a private school. Well, I have news for you, man. I think it will prove to be eye-opening and thought-provoking.

3. The world is at a tipping point. There is war and threats of potential wars, and name-calling, finger-pointing and extreme violence have become commonplace in America and other countries. The “Love Train” that the legendary O’Jays sang about so beautifully has been derailed. That said, can you explain to me how lodging merciless attacks against a certain group is going to make the future or situation any better, especially for your children, the children at your Donda Academy, and children all over the world? I really need you to do that for me, man. I’m not asking you as the founder and editor-in-chief of an independent news and information site. I’m asking you as a brother that was raised in the Redfern Houses of Far Rockaway (Queens), aka “the hood.”

In closing, I realize you don’t have to listen to a damn thing I’m saying. Hell, if this post pisses you off, you might decide to Pete Davidson me in your next song. You know what? I’m willing to take that risk because I believe your children and all children are worth it. You are one of the most influential and successful people on the planet, and you have played a major role in the transformation of rap music. You can also play a major role by using your power to unify not just this country, but the world, Ye. Think about it. That’s all I ask.
