United Democratic Organization to Honor Rep. Nydia Veláquez

 

The following announcement was submitted by Denny Salas, co-political director for the United Democratic Organization.

Many of you know that I have the honor of serving as co-political director for Chinatown’s largest political club, The United Democratic Organization, founded by the venerable Mrs. Virginia Kee and led by the incomparable Chung Seto. It is a political club rooted in public service which celebrates the often unrecognized efforts of leaders who sacrifice for their fellow New Yorkers.

This year, on October 13th, at the Golden Unicorn (18 E. Broadway), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we will have our annual event to recognize one of the all-time greats, U.S. Congressmember Nydia Veláquez!

After 30 years of service, she will no longer have us in her district due to redistricting when the 118th Congress convenes in January.

Join our esteemed guests, including the following, in celebrating “La Luchadora”: New York Attorney General Letitia James, Democratic Congressional Nominee Dan Goldman, State Senator Brian Kavanagh, City Comptroller Brad Lander, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, and City Council Member Carlina Rivera.
