House Republicans Want to Know National Security Basis for FBI Search of Former President Trump’s Home

C-SPAN: House Intelligence Ranking Member Rep. Mike Turner (OH) and other Republicans on the committee held a news conference on the FBI’s search of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. The news conference came amid news reports the search was related to classified nuclear weapons documents. He called for leadership in the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI to explain the national security reasons for the search and criticized “the method” used. He also raised concerns about reports of an informant’s role in the matter and said the committee would send a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray about the process. Other Republican committee members spoke and accused the DOJ and FBI leadership of using their institutions to go after political opponents.
