The following statement was issued today by Paris Dennard, RNC National Spokesperson and Director of Black Media Affairs.

“For all the talk of supporting Black women and promoting representation in the courts, it is telling Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson never took the time to learn about or even meet a fellow Black female jurist in her same Circuit, Janice Rogers Brown. Judge Brown was poised to become the first Black female Supreme Court nominee had it not been for Joe Biden and Democrats pledging to filibuster her nomination. While Judge Jackson may say she stands on the shoulders of Candace Baker Motley, she also stands on the shoulders of Janice Rogers Brown.”
