President Biden Holds News Conference

Global News: U.S. President Joe Biden is set to hold his first press conference of 2022 as he hits the one-year mark of his presidency. He’s expected to face questioning on a number of topics, including the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, his administration’s response to COVID-19, efforts by Democrats on voting rights and inflation rates. Biden’s popularity as president has been sliding since about mid-2020 following the withdrawal of the military from Afghanistan and the subsequent takeover by the Taliban. This, coupled with spikes in COVID-19 cases and increasing inflation has seen Biden’s approval rating slip to an average of about 42 per cent.
