On March 12, yahoo! news reported the following: “A man was found hanging from a tree in Winston, Georgia, and his family is demanding answers from the Douglas County Sheriff’s office (DCSO).
“Stephen Styles’ death has been deemed a suicide. However, his close kin thinks there has been a rush to judgment. Authorities are also investigating reports of vandalism to his car.
“The late 43-year-old man went missing in February, but his family became concerned for his welfare after his car was discovered in Winston, which is about 25 miles west of Atlanta, around Feb. 20 reportedly not far from the residence of his grandparents.”

My guest for this edition of The G-Man Interviews is Keaton Styles, the brother of Stephen Styles. Mr. Styles is here to address inaccurate news reports regarding his brother’s death and misinformation that’s being circulated online. For the very first time, he’ll also share details about what allegedly happened when he questioned the DCSO about its investigation, why he believes his brother was lynched, and why he feels he’ll be targeted by powerful people for speaking out.
The interview was conducted on April 26.
In closing, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was contacted, via email and phone, and Sheriff Tim Pound and Chief Deputy Kenneth Conner were invited to contribute to this report. Moreover, they were invited to do so since the death of Stephen Styles had already been ruled a suicide. Kevin Rowson, Public Affairs Specialist for the Atlanta’s FBI office, was also contacted in the hope of discussing the allegations made against the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The G-Man Interviews also intended to ask Mr. Rowson why the FBI has not taken a closer look at the case, given the previously noted events involving the Ku Klux Klan and the letters that were distributed to Douglasville residents. No one from the law enforcement agencies responded.
