Senator Rick Scott Speaks at Iowa Republican Fundraiser

C-SPAN: Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) was the featured speaker at an Iowa Republican Party fundraiser in Cedar Rapids, the state’s second-largest city. During his remarks, Senator Scott talked about his Midwest roots, how he became a U.S. senator, and his work as chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which works to support Republican Senate campaigns. Later, he and Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) spoke in conversation with Jeff Kaufmann, the Iowa Republican chair. During that conversation, he expressed support for Iowa’s first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses, which were scrutinized following hiccups in reporting results from the 2020 Democratic race in the state. Senator Scott is considered a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate, but did not publicly declare himself one.
