Girls for Gender Equity is Hiring!

Do you want to join our team or know someone who should? Through direct service, policy and organizing, and narrative-shift work, GGE aims to create a world where Black cisgender and transgender girls and gender nonconforming and non-binary youth of color can live self-determined lives. We are a proudly queer, Black feminist, and women of color-led organization.
To do this work, we intentionally center joy in our day-to-day. We understand that we must be willing to center Black joy, community, and rest as forms of resistance. We understand that we must be willing to try new approaches and apply new frameworks in order to solve the systemic problems we’re addressing such as gender-based violence, misogyny, racism, classism, and xenophobia.
On a typical GGE work day, you can find us circulating news and writing about the systems impacting Black young people; mobilizing our base to get cops out of schools in New York state; holding healing spaces for young survivors; organizing with young people across the country to implement change; talking about what streaming series we’re binge watching; sharing photos of our and our loved one’s adorable new babies; collaborating on new exciting projects; and building new skills and infrastructure to strengthen our contributions to the movement space.
We are committed to the financial security of Black people across the gender spectrum by paying all staff living-wage salaries, offering a 401k matching program, and actively engaging staff in the development of new policies and best practices.
We do this work because we are this work. We are committed to building an ecosystem of support rooted in respect for the wisdom of Black women, femmes, and non-binary people — those whose lived experiences and leadership define the innovative solutions that will liberate us all.
If your values align with ours and you feel called to this work, explore our open positions and apply today.
Onward,
