(Produced and Written by Gary Glennell Toms)

US World Report Founder Reflects on His Career, the Power and Compassion
of the Late Peter Jennings, and How ABC News Hurt Minority Communities

Welcome.

My guest for this installment is Tom Osborne, the founder and senior journalist of US World Report.

Assigned by ABC’s Peter Jennings as reporter/producer and United Nations Bureau Chief during the Gulf War, Mr. Osborne covered prime time news stories for World News Tonight, Good Morning, America and 20/20.

During that time, he was also elected president of the United Nations Correspondents Association. Before joining ABC in 1987, he served as U.S. Director of the Amsterdam-based Anne Frank Foundation.

He began his career as an anchorman for a CBS affiliate in South Dakota, and he serves as an editorial contributor for From The G-Man.

The interview was conducted on August 25.
