C-SPAN: From Capitol Hill, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) announced he would not seek reelection in the midterms after his majority-Black district was gerrymandered into three Republican-leaning districts by the Tennessee legislature. He called President Trump “a gangster” for starting redistricting initiatives, which first began in Texas. Moreover, Cohen said “Alito and Roberts need to go,” referring to Justices Sam Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts, who voted in favor of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision that hollowed out Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which made the redistricting of Tennessee possible.
