NPR Podcast to Pay Tribute to Bob Moses

The following was submitted by Muriel Tillinghast, former Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) member.

On August 1 at 6 p.m., NPR will broadcast a special show in honor of Bob Moses. Bob was the principal who laid the groundwork for the massive voter registration campaign conducted in the state of Mississippi during the summer of 1964. “The Mississippi Summer Project” was carried out principally under the leadership of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Bob and I were members of the organization. I have always revered Bob. He was a very special kind of man; a hero in real life and in real-time.

From The G-Man salutes Mr. Moses and his legacy and offers condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May they all find some measure of comfort in the days to come, and may he forever rest in peace.
